The Oaks Automotive Centre has been servicing the community since 1946, formerly known as S.R Noakes & Sons. All of our mechanics are fully qualified and licensed, and offer a comprehensive range of repairs and services.

SERVICING THE COMMUNITY FOR OVER 75 YEARS
S.R. Noakes & Sons was established in 1946 by Stanley Roy Noakes as a Service station, mechanical repair and coal haulage business. Stanley’s sons Elwyn, Rex and Colin joined S.R. Noakes & Sons growing and expanding it over the years. In 2003 Elwyn and Colin retired with Rex and his son David continuing the business. David brought with him his experience from having worked at Rod Lawrence Ford and Scania trucks as a mechanic and then NRMA as a Motor Vehicle Loss Assessor.
Due to the mechanical side of the business growing, in 2010 the Service Station was closed to expand and modernise the workshop with diagnostic equipment and servicing workshop software.
Brothers Scott and Brett Harvey came to S.R. Noakes & Sons in 1989 and 1996 as apprentices and have been an integral part of the workshop team. They have an extensive range of experience having worked on everything from modern vehicles to classic cars, trucks, trailers and horse floats.
From their combined experience of nearly 60 years they have developed strong diagnostic skills that have been acquired from the range of vehicles they have serviced and repaired over the years. They have kept themselves up to date with the everchanging industry.
With the growing and changing community, the decision was made in 2020 to change the business from the family name S.R. Noakes & Sons to THE OAKS AUTOMOTIVE CENTRE. We felt it important that the name reflected our location and what we do as a business.
At THE OAKS AUTOMOTIVE CENTRE we continue to strive to give good old fashion service and advice that Stan, Elwyn, Rex and Colin provided to their community at The Oaks since 1946.
